Monogram Sugar Cookies

For the second recipe from the birthday party I baked for, are these Monogram Sugar Cookies.  I will not even attempt to give you a tutorial on these because the tutorial I used will be far superior to anything I could make…  Over on Bake at 350, she makes the most gorgeous sugar cookies ever - EVER!  I have been decorating sugar cookies with royal icing for quite some time & over this time, I’ve always searched for tip & tricks for decorating them.  I’ve tried a few different tutorials, but none have helped so much as hers.   Plus you could look through her cookies for days, they are so adorable.  I used this icing recipe & this tutorial for the polkadots.  Also, any other cookie tutorials you may need can be found here.

Lastly, for the letter “K”, all I did was stamp the cookie before I baked it with a small letter cookie cutter & used that as a guide when I piped the icing.  (lightly “stamp” the cookie, do not punch all the way through or you will cut out the letter… which is extremely frustrating… not that I did that).
